Regatta Report

The Combined Yacht Clubs of Poole sailed away with another successful International Paints Regatta last weekend. They were delighted that “Toe in the Water” agreed to join forces with them this year. Co-funded by Help for Heroes they area tri-service initiative which aims to involve injured servicemen in competitive sailing as part of their rehabilitation and they will benefit from a share of the entry proceeds... Winners!

The International Paint Poole Regatta 2010 was won by Sam Pearson sailing his father's Dehler 33 'Ruthless'; he scored 7 firsts and 1 second to beat 2008 winner 'Quokka', sailed by Peter Rutter, who only managed to take 5 firsts!

The MOCRA National Champion is 'Buzz'(Phil Cotton) and Sigma 38 National Champion is 'With Alacrity' (Chris & Vanessa Choules).

The Southern Area Championship for the Sonata Class was won by Owain Peters in 'Frankie the Rhino' and the Shrimper class Southern Area Championship was won by Peter Fontes in 'Roatan'.

The J24 Spring Cup was won by 'Madeleine'(Duncan McCarthy).

The Crusader Sails Wessex Quarter Ton Cup was won by 'Illegal Immigrant' (Willy McNeill).

The 2.4m Tidal Water National Champion is Iain Stowe, sailing 'Sixtosix'.
